To be honest I didn't get a vibe off any of the photos in the gallery.funny enough I started freaking out because I didn't like any of it. I walked around and looked at every picture in the gallery and nothing was coming to me. I seen the Nixon photos on the back wall and I thought maybe I can play off from that. I realized I didn't live through the Nixon years or the Kennedy once for that matter, so I asked the photographer about why Nixon was so important and why Nixon became so dislike.
In doing so I seen this photograph out of the corner my eye and I start asking about it. I asked him if he had permission to take this photo from the family. Come to find out he was a great friend of the father and son in this photo. I started asking if photography was always dislike by the Amish or if it became widespread after some kind of uproar in the Amish community. He said" it always been that way because they are a peaceful people and do not like the publicity."
the more he talked about the more I enjoyed this photo.the more I talk and look at this photo I realize why it caught my eye. This photo caught my eye because it's a timeless photograph. This photograph will never go out-of-date because it's about a wise father and his anxious son, also their clothing styles never change which may this photograph useful and telling yesterday, today, and far into the future.this boy is only there for a second, you can tell that something is caught his eye, anything were young boy,but he's only there because of the embrace of his father.the father doesn't want to let the boy go because he's afraid you will get hurt. The father also knows that the boy has to wonder off on his own journey. So the father let the boy go.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Cody. I am glad that after speaking to the photographer and spending time with the image, you were able to appreciate it.
