Hi Cody, I think it is interesting that you will attempt to create your own internet memes for this project. The first thing I notice is that they are each very much about you…either they contain you physically or they refer to you in some way. Perhaps the project is also a sort of self-portrait, or a means to connect with others via the internet? In conjunction with the project, begin to research memes. Which ones are popular and why? Where did the most popular memes originate? Why do you think we are compelled to use them in our society? What is your relationship to internet memes? These are all questions you could address in your artist statement. I am particularly drawn to the 2nd meme, because it speaks towards the image as a subject. I know these are intended to live on the internet, but how large do you plan to print these for presentation?
I'm guessing your whole project is going to have humorous comments on them? Funny! What are you planning on printing them on?
